Nature's Harmony

Row House

A dynamic playhouse for new families

The project is a row house in the Miami urban area that supports single-parent families. The building included three family units at different levels. Each unit contains two beddings, a small toilet and a kitchen area. To establish a sustainable and long-term housing, the furniture is dynamically arranged and flexible. The communal walkway circles around these modules inward and outward to make the system more intuitive while maintaining the clarity and directionality.

As for the children's space, it is always challenging to contain sufficient physical space dedicated to kids in shared housing. Therefore, the project is destined to push the limit of physical restriction for kids. The whole building becomes a playroom for kids to climb and enjoy. For the specific programs, there is an educational room, an auditorium, and a playroom with climbing walls. They are interconnected by ladders and ramps, friendly to all age groups. Also, these spaces are not excluded for parents and situated at lower level, considering the safety issue and parenting surveillance. The ground floor welcomes the local community to enjoy family time with kids at the opened auditorium.
